Dolce & Gabbana USA Escapes NFT Lawsuit as Court Dismisses Claims
A New York federal court dismissed a proposed class-action lawsuit against Dolce & Gabbana USA Inc., ruling the company is not liable for its Italian parent's NFT project. Judge Naomi Reice Buchwald determined the U.S. entity operates independently from Dolce & Gabbana SRL, which launched the 'DGFamily' NFT collection in 2022.
Plaintiffs alleged the fashion house retained over $25 million from NFT sales while failing to deliver promised benefits, including virtual wearables for Decentraland and exclusive events. The court found no evidence linking Dolce & Gabbana USA to the project's operations or marketing, despite shared leadership between the companies.
